It was juuuuustttt right!

Bethany came home with "homework" today! It was so cute. They are studying bears this week and were allowed to take a bear to keep at school with them. Today they listened to the story of "The Three Little Bears." Her homework was to re-tell the story to us. She did such a good job. She had a hard time pronouncing "porridge" but remembered the whole story. Then she demonstrated Goldilocks running out of the house!!

Twilight Moms Unite!!

Yes, I'm a "Twilight Mom." I read all 4 books in less than two weeks and pulled my husband's teeth until he finally agreed to see the movie with me. Granted, he fell asleep about 10 minutes into it and I was less than impressed with the movie, but still. I was searching etsy today for some twilight inspired items and trying to decide if it was to immature of me to purchase them. I mean, the book is aimed at teenage girls...but all women are just teenage girls at heart, right?

Anyway...here are some of my favorites:

CPSIA of 2008 - DOES IT AFFECT YOU?

I'd be willing to bet it does? What is it you ask? The CPSIA of 2008 is an act of Congress which was passed in November and goes into effect on February 10, 2009. This law will affect MILLIONS of people in the United States by requiring the test for lead and phthalates in ALL products intended for use by children under the age of 12. This includes all new, used, and handmade toys, clothes, furniture - EVERYTHING!! If your children wear clothes - you are affected as much as anyone else!

Due to the broadness of this law in the way it is currently written, even thrift stores and charities will no longer be able to sell their goods for children without spending THOUSANDS of dollars on testing before they can sell the items.

I urge you to read this law and write your lawmakers! We cannot afford for this law to go into effect as written!
